WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY

“May we always respect nature and

never forget to treat it right”

The world environment day is celebrated every year on 5th June to raise global awareness to protect nature and the planet earth. World Environment Day was organised in our school on June 14^th with a series of educational and engaging activities aimed at raising awareness about environmental protection and promoting sustainable practices. The Principal encouraged the children to participate actively in the day’s events and to incorporate eco-friendly practices in their daily lives. The children took pledge to make all possible changes in their life to protect the environment which is the foundation for sustaining our planet, community and economy. Children of all classes along with the Principal and teachers obligated for planting and caring of a specific tree, fostering a sense of ownership and responsibility towards the environment. Class I & II children were taken for a guided nature walk around the garden at Silverpuram to learn about local flora and fauna. Class VI to VIII Children created different posters on the theme : Save water, Save Life, Save Energy and Save Earth by showcasing their creativity. Children were also taken for an awareness rally around the neighbourhood with the handouts bearing the message related to saving the earth we live in. The activities provided valuable lessons on environmental stewardship and inspired everyone to take actionable steps towards protect nature.

FEED THE NEEDY

“Never worry about numbers. Help one person at a time and
always start with a person nearest you.”

Donating to charity is a major mood-booster. It gives us a sense of belonging. Life can be difficult sometimes, but remembering we’re all together can help us feel more connected to those around us. Our school has joined hands with ‘ALL Can’ Trust’s ‘Feed the Needy’ programme and donate meal on every Saturday to the needy who are on the roadside of the neighbourhood. Introducing the act of donating seems to be a powerful way of showing the children from a young age that they can make positive changes in the world. Filled with benevolence, our children Abishek (I), Aswin (III), Akilesh (V). Kishore (VII) and Sri Suthan (VIII) on 30.03.2024 happliy distributed the meals to the needy in the presence of ‘ALL Can’ Trust members. Children naturally love to help others, so nurturing their innate generosity is likely to mean that they grow up with a greater appreciation of what they have, and will carry on supporting charity and good causes in years to come.

PARENT ORIENTATION PROGRAMME

"Orientation leads to get acclimated to the culture of the school."

The orientation programme proves to be a successful effort made by the school in educating the parents to look after and guide their children in a proper manner. It also helps parents identify suitable follow-up methods to keep track of their child’s progress in school and thereby reinforce the learning process. An orientation programme for the parents was held in the school campus on 6 April 2024. The programme began with the prayer by Ms. Cafrin. Welcoming the parents to the new academic session, the Principal, expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the parents for joining hands in building a strong foundation for the glorious future of their children. She spoken in detail about the Curriculum, Annual planner, Teaching pedagogy, Scholastic and Co-scholastic activities, Competitions and Rules & regulations of the school. The programme concluded with Parents Teacher Meeting.

DAY OF GRATITUDE

"Have gratitude for all that you have, and you can be happy exactly as you are!"

To develop a constant feeling of gratitude and a sound consciousness of God’s boundless favours, the teachers of our school celebrated a day of gratitude on 2nd April 2024 to acknowledge and appreciate these favours throughout the academic year 2023-24. The programme began with an opening prayer by Ms. Nisha followed by a group song to thank God for the various blessings showered upon all along. The Principal read Psalm 121 from the Holy Bible and delivered a short message that it can be challenging to give thanks to God in the midst of hardships but prayers of thanksgiving can help us overcome the difficulties and bring peace to the mind. Every teacher uttered a thanksgiving prayer to express their gratitude for all the blessings in their career. The closing prayer was done by Ms. Merlin Premila, the Secretary. Then the teachers enjoyed the special lunch together.
